3 firms picked to design $500M BMO Centre expansion

Mad that Cowboys Tent got moved? Yeah, we were a little chapped too. But the $500 mill BMO expansion should be pretty wicked, so we’ll deal with it. (Pro tip: if you don’t know what we’re talking about then you might wanna check our earlier article on the subject.)
Basically, right now we’re a tier 2 convention city. But with this expansion, we’re making moves to take our (rightful) spot in tier 1! The BMO’s gonna double in size, from just over 500,000 square feet to one million(!!) square feet. And now, 3 firms have been chosen to get the job done.

Stantec, Populous and S2 Architecture have been chosen to plan and design the reno. They were picked from among 12 proposals submitted by firms all over the world, so you could say they’re pretty big deals. All we can say is that we hope the BMO turns out like the rest of S2’s work. That Insta is niiiice.
Planning is going to start right away, so you can go ahead and get excited about the new conventions coming our way. We lowkey (high key) hope most of them include wine.
