Calgary’s biggest residential tower to hit the Beltline

Big news folks! Yet another tall building is coming to make the Calgary Tower feel insecure. At a towering 55-storeys, Cidex’s new residential tower would be posted up in the Beltline. Right between the Elbow River and Macleod Trail, in fact!
If you’re looking for a new crib to call home, you might find it in one of the building’s 1252 residential units. There will be shops and restaurants on the ground level. Plus an above-ground parkade, a rooftop dog park, and even a running track! Sounds pretty sweet if you ask us…

It’s all gotta be approved by the city council. But if it gets the green light, the place would be the tallest residential tower in the city. If you’re thinking what we’re thinking, that means a whole lotta (odd) flexing on your short building friends.
What’s more, the location across from Repsol would sit within the Rivers District community revitalization levy (CRL) boundary. What does that mean? Basically, extra property tax dollars from the tower could help to build out the proposed entertainment district on downtown’s east end. Wayho!
The Cidex tower would have a price tag of roughly $350 million, and construction could start as soon as 2020. You into it Calgary?
