An exclusive look inside Calgary’s newest resto, Waalflower

We know, we know– we already lost it over our newest Calgary restaurant, Waalflower. But we’re back to obsessing again, and this time it’s with pretty pictures. You’re welcome.

Even though the outside of the De Waal building has aged like a 100-year-old fine wine, the inside has been renovated to reflect a fresh and vibrant mood. From flowers on the walls (haha, we get it) to eye-catching orange details, Waalflower is anything but outdated.

Don’t even get us started on cocktails. These drinks are ridiculously pretty– case in point: The Zombie and Gardener’s Tonic. While the former is a fiery show of pink grapefruit and rum, the latter is a gorgeous purple mix of snap pea vodka, gin, and violet liqueur. Yum.

Waalflower’s eats are no joke either. With 5 different types of pizzas, Ocean Wise Ahi Tuna crudos, and tons of sweets to choose from, their menu is bursting with tasty flavours. But it’s their sustainable quality that we love; we’re crazy about chef JP Comte’s commitment to farm-to-table eating.
