A National Beerhall x Last Best Brewery collab?! Wow Calgary, dreams really do come true. Their Pink Boots Brew Day event is coming up, so get ready to celebrate International Women’s Day with some delicious brews and fantastic feminism.

On Friday, March 8, women employed at National Beerhall will spend the day at Last Best Brewery to create a special beer just for the ladies. We hear men can drink it too, but only if they’ve never used the word “meninist”. We joke, we joke… Kind of.

The tasty, lady-made brews are all for a good cause. Made to raise awareness of women’s roles in the beer industry, chapters and members of Pink Boots Society around the world brew their own chosen beer style made from Yakima Chief Hops. This is later sold with revenues applied to scholarships and bursaries for its members. Pretty cool, right?

Brewing alongside Advanced Cicerone® and Last Best Brewery’s Head Brewer, Natasha Peiskar, National will be making a soon-to-be-named beer. We hear it’s planned to be a hop-forward rustic ale made with Kveik yeast, and we absolutely can’t wait to try it.

If you wanna support the Pink Boots initiative, just hit up any National location and/or Last Best Brewery to try it from mid-April on. One dollar from every pint sold will go to a scholarship to send a woman to the Olds College Brewmaster & Brewery Operations program, as well as a donation back to Pink Boots Society (as if we needed another reason to drink).

Cheers Calgary! Let’s pour a big pint for all the special ladies in our lives, eh?
