Happy pre-kend, party animals! It’s just about that time. Three days of fresh air, adventures, food, and friends! The weather is going to be a little crummy, so we recommend filling it to the brim to keep your mind off of all the (potential) doom and gloom. If you don’t know where to start, or what’s going on, we’ve put together a nifty little list to help you on your way. Here are 12 things to do this weekend in Calgary.

ENJOY DINNER, DRAG, AND DANCING AT THE PRIDE PUB

Enjoy a fabulous three-course meal, an unbelievable drag show, and a drink or two at this Friday’s Classi-Queens dinner show. Bring your best friend, a parent or a sibling and laugh, clap and eat your way into Saturday morning! This entire event is safe, memorable, and delicious, so do not miss it!

Hungry? We know you are. This will be your last weekend check out Calgary fave, Shelter cocktail bar, and joining industry big-wig Chef Chris Picek as he takes you on a flavourful trip through Spain via small plate! He’ll only be around until Saturday, so don’t sleep on this one, guys!

CRY YOUR WAY THROUGH THEATRE CALGARY’S ROMEO AND JULIET

Wind down and tear up all in the comfort of your own home! Shakespeare by the Bow is one of Calgary’s favourite summer park activities, but unfortunately, because of the virus, we won’t be able to hit Princes Island while we watch. Instead, tune in online!

VISIT CALAWAY PARK FOR THEIR GRAND REOPENING

DINE UNDER THE STARS AT BOW VALLEY RANCHE

This weekend, take a culinary trip to France with this season’s Al Fresco Dome Dining series! Each dome can seat up to 6 guests and there are two seating times available every night! We have a sneaky suspicion that this will sell out quickly so head to their website to book your tastebud trip ASAP!

LEARN A THING OR TWO AT TELUS SPARK 

Welcome back, Telus Spark! These guys are finally open, and now they’re inviting you to come down, get educated, and see what they’ve been up to since they closed in March. From inflatables to the familiar Body World: Animals inside out exhibit, there is a ton to see and do at the science centre. They’ve missed you!

GET MOVIN’ AT THE A VIRTUAL DIS-DANCE PARTY

Last call, YYC! In support of local artists and businesses, The Calgary Hotel Association came up with ‘Hotels Live’, a genius social distancing event. Using suite patios that overlook either a courtyard or in Calgary’s case a pool area, people will be able to watch a concert feeling like a VIP.
