Will Ferrell basically just confirmed a Wedding Crashers sequel

It’s been 15 long years since Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn crashed their last wedding, and times have changed. Security, for one, has gotten a hell of a lot tighter for private events in Washington D.C., and comedy has evolved. Despite how well the movie ended, we often wonder if Chaz still lives in his mom’s basement, if Sack is still a total jerk, and if Todd’s art career ever really took off. Well, according to Will Ferrell we might be in luck because the legend has basically, point-blank, said that a Wedding Crashers sequel is in the works.

Are we apprehensive? Of course. We would argue that the sequels for Hangover, Ted, and Horrible Bosses were kind of trash. Call us overly critical, but even Anchorman 2 was a bit of a mess.

No matter how badly we think we want it, a comedy follow-up is hardly ever good, that’s just a fact. However, because we have a soft spot for Vince and this movie… we’re going to TRY our very best to be optimistic. Also like we said, considering how little Will Ferrell left up to interpretation while talking to E! News about the who thing, we think it’s safe to say that we really don’t have any other choice.

“Wedding Crashers 2, yeah. I think we can just say it’s being written,” he said.

On the bright side, some of the OG cast have said in the past that they would be down to crash again, so that’s definitely a step in the right direction. Rachel McAdams, who has worked with Vaughn and Wilson a couple of times since 2005 said she would be ready and willing.

So … there you have it. A Wedding Crashers Sequel is almost definitely happening. If our Canadian queen is on board, we should be too, right?
