We’re ready to roll! E-scooters to be reintroduced to Calgary today

Well, colour us surprised! If you were jonesing for a spring scoot on either a Lime or Bird two-wheeler, you’re in luck. 300 e-scooters will hit the streets of Calgary today, May 22nd.
Mayor Naheed Nenshi announced Thursday, that despite ridership being at an all-time low, the city will continue to offer the transit system and re-introduce the ride-sharing service for those who may be returning to work or running errands.

The Mayor said that this particular decision was made simply because public transportation is an essential service, noting that over 100,000 people still use the service every single day.
He also mentioned that there will be consequences for those who weren’t being considerate. Fines can be issued to those who aren’t riding respectfully, so be careful, folks!
If you’re going to use one of the city’s e-scooters or ride Calgary Transit, please remember to wash and sanitize your freaking hands!
