Shakers Fun Centre in Calgary closes permanently after 15 years

It’s the end of an era. We remember hitting up Shakers Fun Centre for birthday parties, or on Saturday nights with our parents when we were kids.
Unfortunately, according to a statement released on its website, the family-friendly playground has been forced to close permanently.

If you have never been to Shakers, you missed out. At 8 years old, we couldn’t even begin to tell you it was that we loved so much about it, honestly. Sugar and go-carting made for a wild time.
“Thank you for your patronage over the past 15 years, it has been our ultimate pleasure to serve our community,” Shakers Fun Centre said in the statement.
Luckily, for anyone with 2020 passes, the company will be issuing refunds on their website here. For the rest of us, it’s just a sad, sad day. You’ll be missed, Shakers! Thanks for all of the fun!
