Women’s Day is a nice little once-a-year reminder that our sisters, daughters, friends and SOs make Calgary and the world that much better. This year, in addition to calling and thanking your mom, it might also inspire you to do some good and support an incredible local program or organization (what’s up, good karma!).
Here are 5 Women’s Day events in Calgary to check out this weekend.
WOMEN’S DAY AT THE MILITARY MUSEUM
Grab a drink and wander through an empowering gallery of artifacts and photos, take tours, and enjoy special presentations by the education department and other guest speakers. It’s all with a focus on the incredible women of WWII. The baddest of badasses!

2020 WOMEN’S DAY GALA CALGARY
Join emcee Aisling Tomei in welcoming guest speaker Jillian Harris and entrepreneur Jess Tetu. These women will be honouring the political, social and economic achievements of incredible women from around the world, and right here in YYC! In addition to change your life-style speakers, guests will also enjoy an amazing 3-course plated dinner, a raffle draw, and of course, sips from the cash bar. What’s a celebration without good food and drinks? Not much of one at all, we’d say.

A WOMAN A DAY PRESENTS: WOMEN’S DAY EVE MEETUP
Women supporting women in support of a good cause? That’s what’s up. Each ticket to this event will include one bevvy, a chance to win amazing door prizes, small bites, and a space to network and mingle with some of Calgary’s finest. Proceeds from this event will go towards supporting STAND ASA, a Calgary organization supporting victims of sexual assault.

WOMEN’S DAY DINNER AT DONNA MAC
Amy Turner, owner of YYC resto Donna Mac, and some of Calgary’s best female chefs will be hosting a feast for a good cause. Proceeds from this event, which includes 6 wine pairings and a 6-course meal, will go towards the Women Supporting Women in Hospitality Scholarship. It also benefits the female students at SAIT. This is probably the tastiest event this weekend!

WOMEN’S DAY AT WESTBROOK MALL
Support and celebrate women entrepreneurs with a day of fun for the whole family. Take photos in the photo booth, win prizes, take in some live music, receive an onsite makeover and check out henna artists! The best part? It’s free!
