weirdest things calgary

Ahh, the week that follows a holiday Monday. You forget what day it is and where you are. It’s a strange time, isn’t it? Well, buckle up, kids. The post-long weekend twilight zone isn’t the only thing that is about to throw you off! Here are the 5 weirdest things happening in Calgary this week, to make matters even more bizarre.

THE ART OF DOG LANGUAGE

Honestly, we don’t think we would want to know what our dog is thinking beyond “feed me, love me, walk me.” We can only assume it would be something more along the lines of “you’ve eaten an entire bag of Doritos without pants on and I’m ashamed of you.” For those who are confident that their dog would only have polite things to say, you can learn to non-verbally chat with your furry friend. Go and get your Dr. Dolittle on, Calgary!

When: Thursday, February 20th
Where: 2309 Centre Ave, Calgary
Time: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Cost: $30 +

DISSECTING FISH FOR KIDS

Fish are friends, not food! Luckily for your curious tots, there’s a grey area between pals and snack where you can get away with playing in their guts. Kids between the ages of 6-12 are invited to learn and examine the anatomy and physiology  of a Mexican Grey Perch. Pleasant.

When: Friday, February 21st
Where: Register for address
Time: 9 am – 2:30 pm
Cost: $25

ROPE WORKSHOP

Honestly, we’ve seen too many movies to trust anyone that would need to know more than one way to tie a knot, but according to the event listing, this workshop exists only to “give you the ease of access into the world of rope.” There you go guys, rope has an entire world of its own and it requires ease of access.

When: Friday, February 21st
Where: 544 – 42 Ave SE, Calgary
Time: 8 pm – 11 pm
Cost: $15
