Visit 23 year old Tazza Deli for a closing day in benefit of cancer research

Via @tazza_deli on Instagram

Well, today is awfully bittersweet! After 23 years and thousands of Shish Taouks later, Tazza Deli in Bridgeland is closing its doors to the public.

If you didn’t already know, Tazza is an adorable little Middle Eastern deli in Bridgeland Market, and we’ll be super sad to see them go. This is the kind of place that honestly makes everyone feel like family, and that’s rare to come by!

Unfortunately for us, eventually everyone needs to retire. Fatima Traya, who opened the deli with her husband Nawaf in 1996, definitely deserves to do exactly that.

So, to say goodbye and to celebrate her big day, Bridgeland Market invites everyone for one last Tawouk. Today, you can eat in good company and also in good conscience. All proceeds made from today’s sales will go to the Tom Baker Cancer centre in honour of Nawaf. We’re not crying, you’re crying.

We’ll miss you Tazza! Now get out there, Calgary! We promise it’ll be the tastiest decisions you’ll make all day.
