Typically, a treehouse is only fitting accommodation for youngsters. In recent years, however, variations on the traditional design have led to treehouse-ish places to stay popping up in incredible locations around the world. One of those locations is set inside the coastal rainforest of Vancouver Island, BC, and features the mindblowing Free Spirit Spheres.

Now, we are well aware that these look like they are straight out of Avatar, but they are fully-functional accommodations. The Free Spirit Spheres offer up an adult-only stay that is truly one of a kind.

These spheres have been around for a while now but consistently rank among the most-unique accommodations in the entire world. Hard to argue with that.
The vision behind the spheres was to create a world-class resort where guests can experience nature and functional luxury at the same time. These things might look tiny from the outside, but inside you can sleep up to three guests in the largest one. Talk about a slumber party to remember.
