Trendy Vegas mini-doughnut shop opens second Canadian location in YYC

Legendary Stampede vendor Those Little Donuts left a large sugar-dusted hole in the midway when they were MIA last July. But fret no more, there’s a new deep-fried sheriff in town and they might be just as good as the OG thing. Vegas-based mini doughnut-chain The Dapper Doughnut just opened in Calgary at Market Mall and they have over 20 different flavours to choose from. The best part? They’re available all. year. round.

We’ve tried doughnut after doughnut, hoping something was just as good as that stellar Maier family recipe, but nothing has ever come close. Enter: Mark Publicover, the CEO of The Dapper Doughnut. This man started the company with a dream and a major hankering for the donuts of his childhood. We can relate, Mark.

The Dapper Doughnut opened in 2015 and now has everything from sweet, to sweet-er, to extremely sweet. This place and their flavours sound absolutely insane. Among a ton of others, they have chocolate turtles, PB&J,  s’ mores, bananas foster, and Nutella. Damn. You can even make a custom flavour if you’re ordering for a large party or through their catering service.

They also have doughnut milkshakes, which are blended with doughnuts and ice cream and then topped with whipped cream… and another doughnut.

The company opened its first and only Canadian location in Saskatoon last year, and they’ve been pretty successful so far. But clearly they saved the best for second! The Dapper Doughnut at Market Mall is now open, so what are you waiting for? Find bliss, Calgary.
