Home of the Week: A Wooden Palace in Pump Hill
Via Jerry Charlton / ENGEL & VOLKERS CALGARY

Hello, friends and welcome back! Can you believe November is nearly over? Christmas is just around the corner, and we can hardly wait. December is the month of carolers, hot chocolate, and of course the fireplace channel! Hmm… we wonder if this Curiocity Home of the Week will remind you of anything? You might also recognize it from earlier this year, but get ready for a massive price change on this bad boy.
HOME OF THE WEEK: 15 PUMP HILL CLOSE SW

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood? Well, a woodchuck would have to chuck, literally, all the wood he could chuck, if the woodchuck wanted to rebuild this house, because, dam… this is a lot of timber guys.
The wood cabinets in this place match the walls, that match the ceiling, which also happens to match the exterior of the house. Now, we’re not saying that this is a bad thing! The home definitely has character and seems rather inviting, but like, isn’t this a fire hazard?
Honestly, this home kind of gives us that 70’s show vibes, so if you’re looking for a cookie-cutter place with good Instagram lighting, this probably isn’t your home. But if you are looking for somewhere with a nostalgic Led Zepplin, Queen era flare, this might be worth the cash. We couldn’t even imagine something that would fit the bill quite as well this one would.

Slivers, s’ mores and throwbacks aside, this six-bedroom, eight-bathroom, 5,622 square foot home is kind of a remarkable find. Yeah, it’s definitely original, but it also has an incredible view of the city skyline, which we love. Location, Location, Location!
It’s comfortably nestled in the prestigious gated community of Pump Hill, has an open floor plan with beautiful marble flooring, and large rooms with panoramic windows.

There’s an incredible library, bonus rooms, wide hallways, and gorgeous skylights throughout. So yes, the home is definitely a little outdated, but in an amazingly charming way. Like we said, it’s so different, and with a little fixing up this home could be a castle. A big, wooden castle.
This banger of a home retails for a cool $5,488,000, which is totally out of our price range. But if lumber is your thing, and you have the bank account to back it, have at er’! You can take a look at the original posting here!
