It’s been a long while since they were teased, but both Apple TV+ and Disney+ will be arriving in Canadian households this month. Apple TV+ is slated to release on November 1 (this Friday!), while Disney+ will be available on November 12.

Here’s a quick rundown of the two streaming services.

First, Apple TV+ is on the docket. They’ll be releasing a few original series right at launch, but they’re promising new content each and every month after launch. From sci-fi to Oprah’s Book Club, it’s clear that Apple wants to build out its programming fully. They’re priced competitively too, at only $5.99 for access to 6 devices. Wanna buy an Apple product? You’ll get a year free, as well.

Disney+ is a heavyweight, and they’re coming out swinging. They’ve got Lucasfilm, Pixar, National Geographic and Marvel Studios under their belt. Plus, the full catalogue of Disney movies and programming. Whether it’s the release of the entire Avengers series or the new show The Mandalorian, there’s a lot of content for people to work through. At $8.99 a month, they’re also undercutting Netflix.

Of the two platforms, we have a feeling that Disney+ is going to be one the one that seriously threatens Netflix’s spot at the top. However, Apple’s ability to draw in consumers has been their strong suit for over a decade.
