Home of The Week: A luxe contemporary cabin on the outskirts of Calgary

Wide-open spaces and a fireplace for every room. This Curiocity Calgary home of the week perfectly combines a Shushwap cabin hang out with an overpriced Swiss Airbnb. Honestly, it’s dark side vs. light-of-day wood finish and glass dividers would be singing luxury if the house came with a set of lungs. Hell, maybe it will… it basically has everything else.
CURIOCITY CALGARY HOME OF THE WEEK

The exterior of the house looks very ordinary family in-city lake home. But, it’s the inside that counts. This place seriously sets a “first impression” standard.
Upon entering the contemporary behemoth of an estate you’re greeted with a grand open industrial style staircase. And what’s fancier than a grand staircase?

Just outside the windows of the living/dining room, you get a perfect view of the marina, your built-in BBQ, a golf course and the mountains. Which daily, will remind you that you’re like, super-rich. Nice.
The gourmet kitchen is listed as “fit for a chef” and sports a camera in the fridge. Obviously, that’s super useful to know what groceries you might need, but it will also document your shameful midnight feasting snacking.
Vaulted ceilings and thick wire light fixtures tower over the main dining/living space. We say main- because there’s like three other living rooms… and two other kitchens.

The two-story home is over four thousand square feet. Which is pretty big. Has 4 bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. So you and your roommates or family members can fight over who doesn’t get the half bath. Which for the record, is still bigger than the average apartment.

The bedrooms include massive walk-in closets, and large windows to let in plenty of natural light. And just off the master bedroom, a private patio and a coffee station. Boujee.
As if this wasn’t enough… the house also has two bonus rooms for you to do what you wish. A Gym, a yoga studio, an office or a billiard room. Your house, your rules, man.

Your back yard is massive. Hang out by the dock, or sit by the fireplace and read a book. Lounge by the water’s edge on your private beach, or take a dip.
All of this and a fridge that you don’t have to open to tell if you’re out of milk? Only a measly $2,075,000. Peanuts!
