This ‘Mountain House’ being built on a BC island is one of the craziest homes we’ve ever seen

We’ve featured some pretty wild homes, but this one has to take the cake – and the sprinkles, the candles, and the table that it’s all sitting on. “Mountain House,” in British Columbia, designed by the New York firm ME Architecture, is a cliff-hanging, stomach-churning, magic trick of a palace that defies all logic and breaks every rule.

Off the eastern coast of Vancouver Island lies Quadra Island, where this spectacular will be built starting this year.

Lead architect Milad Eshtiyaghi has almost cheated gravity – creating a home Tony Stark could only dream of.  Instead of a solid, flat foundation, Eshtiyaghi has opted to build on the side of a mountain, hanging over trees, water, and ridged rocks.

Now, despite it’s unsettling appearance, the renderings of the homes interior look pretty serene, earthy and welcoming.

This is kind of the last thing we expected from a home that has us feeling the same way that we do when someone narrowly dodges a moving train in a movie – but as they say, you can never judge a book by its cover!

Now unfortunately for those who have a thing for unsettling real estate (and are also rolling in dough) – this bad boy won’t be on the market – at least, not for a very long time.

“Mountain House”, which will break ground (er, rock?) this month and take at least 7 months to complete was actually built specifically for a family…. of what we can only assume are super spies.

For more crazy homes, designs, and photos that will make your head spin, we highly recommend checking out the architects Instagram here – because this certainly wasn’t the first time he’s planned on building something awe-inspiring.
