Stampede 2020 may be cancelled, but the spirit of the Greatest Show on Earth lives on! This year, despite things looking a little bit different on the grounds, the organization is encouraging Calgarians to keep their hats on!

“We may not be able to gather together or celebrate in traditional ways during Stampede 2020, but that won’t stop Stampede spirit from shining through during the ten days in July,” they say on their website. “Whether you Stampede at home, in your yard, or with your neighbours, we’re excited to see how you create Community Spirit this year.”

Instead of having the masses stumble down the midway in their cowboy boots, the Stampede will hold mini-events, where you can still eat and drink, party, and celebrate Calgary pride safely.

Stampede at Home

Whether its a zoom party with an official background, a once-through of their Spotify playlist, or a festive Instagram post with the Stampede 2020 stickers, the organization wants you to commemorate Calgary’s longest-running tradition. For more information, you can check out their website here!

We will ride again, Calgary! The greatest show on earth will be back next year and you can bet it’ll be the best one yet! Enjoy yourselves, Cowtown!
