Juul has officially opened a store in the west end of Toronto, making it the first brick-and-mortar Juul store in all of North America. We don’t know how to feel that Canada was the company’s first choice. Happy? Disappointed? Ready to blaze a fat cloud of dank mango nic? (We’re so sorry for that.)
Just when millennials thought they had snuffed out reliance on nicotine by making smoking less cool than riding a Segway, Generation Z has come along and made Juul-ing a social norm. What began as a clever product to help smokers move away from traditional cigarettes has become a lucrative business spanning the globe.
Sure, it’s not just high-schoolers and college kids driving the Juul train to the top of the e-cigarette world, but they’re certainly the top demographic. And no e-cigarette has matched the meme-heavy, ironically-cynical Gen Z better than Juul.

Located at 495 Queen Street West, this shop available to adults 19 years and older looks more like an Apple store than a traditionally-grimy vape shop. With a modern design, sleek finishes, and flat-screen TVs running through Juul ads and vape stats, the store definitely wants to remove any idea that vaping isn’t cool.

Emerging as Canada’s top vaping brand, Juul now owns nearly 80% of the country’s vaping market. Yes, you can grab the products at around 13,000 gas stations, convenience stores, and vape shops across Canada, but only in Toronto can you find an official Juul store.
Juul isn’t necessarily the bad guy in this story, as they’ve even introduced a new Bluetooth device that users can track their nicotine intake on. Knowing high schoolers and meme culture, however, we wouldn’t be surprised to see kids trying to one-up each other now that they know they can get their nic-levels over 9000.
