2 food trucks & mini-putt combine at Calgary’s coolest new spot

Buckle up for a chicken, taco, and mini-golf party like you’ve never seen, Calgary. Taiko Taco has been delivering top-notch food truck fare for the past few years, but now it’s taking things to the next level. Their newest project, Taiko Canteen, is opening up shop this Thursday, August 1!
So what is it, exactly? To start, it’s a 3000 sq. ft food market and music hall with rotating brewery taps, 9 holes of Lucky Putt, and great vibes. It’s the home of Taiko and Zilford’s Fried Chicken, too, so get ready for some delicious eats.

But unlike most spots, Taiko Canteen isn’t just about having a good time. It’s also about feeding those in need, waste diversion, creating jobs that have purpose, and standing for something, which means you can feel good knowing you’re supporting a place that gives back.

As for the menu? Tacos range from Chili Chicken to Coconut Crusted Tofu to Jackfruit to Mango Shrimp, and more. Fried chicken can be served in a sando, in tenders, or popcorn-style. There’s a couple bowls to choose from too– try the Hokey Poke or the Caulifornia Love (even if it’s just to say the fun names).
We know we’ll be diving into the Kimchi Tots and the Corkscrew Mac + Cheese, but that’s just us. Pair it with a draft beer, glass of wine on tap or a killer cocktail (yeah, we’re talkin’ about the Cereal Killa), and you’re golden.
