It’s midsummer, and our midsummer night’s dream is doing all the cool things to do in Calgary this week and then calling off work the next day to drink wine and eat cheese in the park. Wanna join? We’ve rounded up all the events, shows, and fests in the city this week so we can end July on a wicked note.

Here are 8 of the best things to do in Calgary this week!

Nick Cave: Feat. Exhibit

The newest exhibit to grace The Glenbow Museum, the Nick Cave: Feat. exhibit features the artist’s signature Soundsuits as well as sculpture, video and installation works. Nick Cave, often referred to as a “messenger” is interested in connecting people and ideas. Through Nick Cave’s brilliantly colourfully and politically charged art, he seeks to transform anger and despair into love, action, and possibility.

Cost: $11.00 – $18.00

Def Leppard

Pour Some Sugar On Me is forever our go-to stripper anthem. Is it weird that we have a go-to stripper anthem? Maybe. But we have no regrets and we’re definitely hitting this concert this month, you should too.

When: Wednesday, July 31
Where: Scotiabank Saddledome

Summer Farm Days at Calgary Corn Maze & Fun Farm

Our 3 favourite F’s: farm animals, fun and ftrain rides. Okay, so the last one doesn’t exactly go, but we’re still pretty jazzed about this excuse to play hooky.

Where: Calgary Corn Maze & Fun Farm- 284022 Township Road 224

Salsa On The Street 2019

Can’t dance? Tequila and SOTS fest think you can. Salsa On The Street is a casual weekly opportunity for people to get together and dance salsa, so pop by for DJs and a chance to tweak your skillz!

Meditation in the City

Need some more zen in your life? Meditation in the City can help. Their guided meditation incorporates painting and music to encourage mindfulness, so you’ll leave looking like the sunglasses emoji in no time. 😎

Let’s get bluesy, people. This fest features a full week of Blues workshops, concerts and special events plus nonstop live tunes!
