A world record tightrope walk just happened at the Stampede

Only two weeks after walking across Times Square, Nik Wallenda has broken his own record for the “longest urban tightrope walk” at Stampede. Unharnessed, the madman walked a total of 549 metres yesterday, some 30 meters off of the ground. Talk about some real Stampede entertainment.

A true sight to behold, the walk practically covered the entire Midway grounds. Nik started at the kids midway crane and ended at the Rotary Dream Home. We wonder if anyone tried to throw some mini donuts to him during his walk.

The Wallenda family has been tightrope walkers for generations, so it only makes sense that he would continue to push the boundaries. In fact, he and his sister Lijana crossed Times Square together.

As impressive as it is, the walk is just one of many incredible things to see at the Stampede. There’s motorcycle shows, crazy dogs, and of course, clowns just taunting a bunch of bulls.

Because why not? It’s the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.
