To be honest, was there ever any doubt? Cowboys Musical Festival has apparently been approved to keep its tent open late into the night like past years. A month ago Calgary wasn’t even sure if their favourite Stampede tent would return this year. Now it’s looking like it could be better than ever.

Despite being given the go-ahead to take over the land where the dilapidated Enoch House burned down, Cowboys wasn’t happy with the restrictions. They had to shut off the music at midnight and get every drunk soul out of the tent by no later than 1 AM.

Cowboys tent has been approved to have live music until midnight and then a DJ until 2 am. Liquor sales can also continue until 2 am. Everyone must leave the tent (except staff) by 3 am.

Earlier today, an appeal was made to the city by Cowboys owner Paul Vickers and his company, Penny Lane Entertainment Group, with regards to the tent restrictions. Sure enough, Cowboys has come out on top!

The Cowboys tent will be able to stay open all the way until 2 AM. Now, live music will still need to be off by midnight, but Cowboys can keep a DJ playing until 2 AM. Also, Cowboys tent will be able to serve liquor until 2 AM. Just like the good old days!

Well, we can’t say we’re surprised, but we are certainly excited. Yeehaw, Calgary!
