While we’re patiently waiting for the pickle mania that’s gonna be going down at Stampede, we’ve got other new eats to focus on. Namely, the scratch-made, Hong Kong style ones from Sugar Lips Dessert House! Yes, that’s it’s real name. Yes, we’re still gonna call our S.O. the same thing.

This place is legit, Calgary. Why do we say that? Well, we had to after trying their house-made, hand-pressed taro mochi. This stuff is traditionally eaten in celebration of the Japanese New Year, but hey… We’ll take any excuse to dive into dat purple goodness.
Feeling something more savoury? Well, that’s kinda weird considering you went to a dessert house. Still, Sugar Lips has you covered. Their tasty Cart Noodles are a nod to traditional Hong Kong street food. You can build your own soup noodle bowl with 6 different noodle types and 30 noodle toppings, too! Mmm, options.
Cola chicken wings, green pepper shrimp, and mango sago are some of our faves. What are yours? Let us know via Insta!
