The inside scoop on Calgary’s newest pro sports experience

Attention, Calgary! We experienced Cavalry FC LITERALLY kick off their first ever game, and we want to give you the inside scoop. What was once known as Meadows on the Green, is now the newly reno’d ATCO Field at Spruce Meadows. The property had gone through a critical transformation, to make room for the Cavalry while maintaining Spruce Meadows’ classic charm.

First of all, you don’t need to be a die-hard soccer fan to enjoy this experience. To be honest, you can really just go for the beer, the sunshine, and the food. But, we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised along the way. And we’re pretty confident you’ll even leave there as a true Cavalry fan. So far, they successfully ran the table in May to start their season. That means they are at the top of the league, so when you join in on cheering them on, you’ll be on the winning side.

The pitch is nestled into the south end of the property. This allows attendees a unique view of the grounds and the European inspired buildings from their seats. That won’t mean you’ll have to stay confined to your seat for the whole game, however.

Run out of beer? Need to grab some food? Don’t wanna miss out on the game? No sweat. You can catch the game from the giant screens in the Central Plaza, so no action will be missed. Another bonus is alcoholic bevys are allowed everywhere in the ATCO Field. That means you can take your drink to-go while watching the game from a couple different viewpoints.
