TEDxYYC 2019 is finally here, and it’s bigger than ever

Calling all Calgarians: TEDxYYC’s 10th annual event is coming back on Saturday, June 15th! This event will be all about engaging, empowering and inspiring. If you’re not in the know about TED events, prepare to get enlightened people.

TED

TED is a nonprofit organization that started as a Californian conference over 30 years ago. Inviting the world’s leading thinkers to speak, the organization is “devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading.” Since TED’s not-so-humble beginnings (we mean, previous speakers include Bill Gates and Sir Richard Branson), the organization has grown to support multiple independent initiatives, such as TEDxYYC.

TEDxYYC is an independently organized event, that still supports TED-like initiatives. They do this by bringing people together to ignite deeper connections, discussions, and experiences. Essentially, TEDxYYC fosters the spirit of spreading worthwhile ideas. They know that Calgary is a great city, and heck- you don’t have to tell us twice. However, they believe that through great ideas, a transformation into an even greater city is possible!

2019 THEME

This year’s TEDxYYC is their tenth annual event, and it will be their biggest and boldest yet! This year’s theme is: You Are Here. What does that mean? Well, context is everything, right? In all seriousness though, we’re all just trying to figure out where “here” really is. To figure out where we’re going, we need to establish where we’ve come from, and where we are now. How will we do that? By gathering together at TEDxYYC 2019 to celebrate ten years of ideas worth sharing!
