An exclusive look inside Calgary’s best healthy resto

It’s been rated as one of Canada’s top 100 restaurants and mentioned multiple times as one of Calgary’s best by far. Yes Calgary, you could probably guess that we’re talking about Ten Foot Henry. Launched in 2016, this vegetable-loving resto has been making major waves since.

Husband-and-wife team Aja Lapointe and Steve Smee consistently kill it with their vegetable-centric plates. They’re simple but ridiculously tasty. For instance, their new veg, the Zucchini & Pea Carbonara, is a can’t-miss. Their Tagliatelle with pomodoro sauce doesn’t skimp on the cheese, a factor we hugely appreciate.

However, it’s not an all-veggies show. Carnivores are welcome too but don’t expect to eat anything that will weigh you down afterward. Everything’s healthy as can be– like their salmon toast, with fresh greens and dill.

Pair your eats with an imaginative cocktail or some delicious wine, and you’re officially on the feelgood highway. We recommend the Midsummer’s Night Fire, with turmeric tequila, chartreuse, lemon, carrot, and ginger. Or, if you’re showing up around brunch time, you can’t go wrong with a Bloody Caesar.

So go ahead– bridge the gap between what you should be eating and what you really want to eat, Calgary. That’s what we call adulting.
