The Beltline’s most authentic (and hidden) Mexican gem

Okay Calgs, right in time for Cinco De Mayo, we’re here to take you on an incredible food journey through this Beltline hidden gem. You probably haven’t tried La Casa Latina before, and we promise after you see our recs from their list of incredible offerings, you’ll be rearranging your Cinco De Mayo plans around hitting up this Latin American inspired spot.

It’s gonna be a particularly happy weekend with celebrations for Cinco De Mayo in full swing, so be sure to at least add La Casa Latina to your list of pit stops for the ultimate fiesta! We’re talkin’ good eats, tasty drinks, and live music starting at 6:30 pm on Saturday, May 4th!
La Casa Latina has some of the most authentic and delicious Latin food Calgary has seen. With dishes like Molcajete, Fajitas, Tacos Al Pastor, Pescado Salvadoreno, Tipico, Colombian Empanadas, Paella, and tons and tons of guac, you’ll be soaking up margaritas and bulldogs with an incredible feast. We do highly recommend making reservations though, it’s never a good look having to wait in line…

Naturally, we know you’re going to be diving head-first into the tequila because what is more traditional than that? Just kidding. But, it is a tasty mixer and an honorary Curiocity favourite. Plus, unlike your average Cinco De Mayo taco spot, La Casa Latina has offerings unlike anywhere else.
Whether you’re into a full fillet of fish, an order of tacos, or a plate of paella, La Casa Latina is offering up a broad list of unique items that you definitely won’t be disappointed by. The juicy pineapple marinated pork in the Tacos Al Pastor will take you straight to flavour town.

The Molcajete, an extremely popular Mexican dish, can also be devoured at this resto. The stew is served complete with chicken, steak, or shrimp in a stone bowl and all!
Meanwhile, the Pescado Colombiano is a Colombian style Tilapia, deep fried and served with cassava, patacones, and salad. Feelin’ a more Salvadorian style tilapia? The Pescado Salvadoreno is served with rice, salad and pico de gallo for a refreshing spin on the dish.

So now that we’ve “uncovered” this Beltline gem, what’re you waiting for? Send off a mass message in that group chat you’ve been sucked into and let everyone know you’ll be stopping by La Casa Latina to show off your best dance moves. If you’re looking for us, we’ll be the ones chowing down on some tasty Latin eats!
