Here we are, Cowtown, with another edition of the Curiocity Calgary Rental of the Week. This spring weather has brought some beautiful rental options out of hibernation, so we’re pretty happy with what we’ve snagged for you this week.

We’re going to take a break from downtown living (as nice as it is). Instead, this week we’re focusing on a different kind of rental. With that, we were surprised to find out that you and a few friends can rent a sweet house for about the same price as living downtown.

You have every right to be skeptical. But, a 6200 square foot home in Aspen Woods is currently on the market for $6500/month. With 5 bedrooms in the house, that breaks down to about 1300 per person. Not so bad at all for what you get.

And boy, do you get a lot. The house is custom built and can come fully furnished. There are vaulted ceilings throughout, with a spiral staircase in the main foyer. Are you an aspiring cook? An industrial gas range will be your new best friend.

The rooms are massive so you don’t need to worry about running out of space for shenanigans. This extends to the bedrooms and the backyard as well. Scared about upsetting the neighbours during a garden party? You’ll be fine, it backs onto a ravine.

So, if there’s ever a time to test out country living in the city, this is it. Text your friend group and get them to break their leases, you know you won’t regret a year out here.
