Live your 80s ski dream next week in Fernie

Are you itching to get on the slopes next week for some spring skiing? Instead of dragging your friends to COP, head to Fernie for one of the best days of the season. Hot Dog Day, happening on Wednesday, April 3, is your opportunity to dress like your parents did in the 80s.

It’s time to rifle through those ‘Old Ski Gear’ boxes in search of a lime green Descente onesie. Don’t think it would have survived all this time? That’s ok, just go see what’s available at your local thrift store. Make sure you get something though, or else you’ll look like a total nerd in your all black Arc’teryx suit.

We highly recommend sticking around after your day on the slopes to hit up a few after-parties. The Rusy Edge and the Griz Bar have DJs lined up, while bars in town will be crammed with people talking about how hard skiing on 2-inch skis actually is. With any luck, they’ll be complaining about those dang newfangled snowboards as well.

Having been a couple of times in the past few years, we can’t recommend Hot Dog Day enough.
