Neil Campbell’s exhibition “Wheatfield” at the Esker Foundation is running until May 12th and it’s the perfect exhibit for any of y’all who aren’t quite sure how to do modern art. The entire set of pieces are a practice in the “phenomenological aspects of the act of viewing”. We definitely know what that means, so we’ll be there to practice our perception/take pretty Instagram pics.

Jokes aside, this installation is an impressive piece of work. The Esker has made a point of using its space to create a journey for the audience while they view the art and Neil Campbell’s Wheatfield takes full advantage.

Then, be sure to capture whatever “facing the wall, looking at art, shot from behind” angles you need for those basic (but necessary) Instagram posts. From wall paintings and vinyl print installations to plate steel sculptures, Campbell’s art is sure to grab your eye, Calgs.

We’ll be honest, we don’t really understand modern art either. But that’s the great thing about art! You don’t have to understand it in order to feel something from it. So get yourself down to the Esker Foundation and elicit some of those emotions you’ve been stuffing down deep inside ya. It’s cheaper than therapy.
