Calgary’s 10-day Best Restaurant Event starts today

Hey there, Calgary! We know February was cold, long, and miserable, but now that it’s over we have plenty of reasons to celebrate. One of those reasons is that today is the official kick-off to the first ever YYC Food & Drink Experience!

This 10-day culinary experience brings some of the city’s finest dining experience to Calgarians at an affordable cost. Sound familiar? That’s because this fantastic food event was formerly known as The Big Taste, and has been one of Calgary’s premier dining experiences for years.

With a new name, new ownership, and some brand new energy, the YYC Food & Drink Experience is ready to blow Calgary away. Here is all the info you’ll need in order to properly eat your heart out!

The What:

YYC Food & Drink Experience, presented by Brightside, is encouraging you to explore Calgary’s amazing culinary scene through the value of prix-fixe menus. Restaurants will have $20-$30 lunch menus and $30-$40 dinner menus. Get a little extra from the menus with Brightside Bubbles at select restaurants. Feeling boujee?

Try out the gourmet menus for $65, giving you an incredible insight into the finest fare Calgary has to offer.

Oh, and if all of that doesn’t satisfy your foodie-experience appetite, we suggest you check out one of the fifteen wicked food events going on around the city from March 2-11.

The Why:

The YYC Food & Drink Experience is presented by Brightside, a new mobile banking app coming to the palm of your hand later this year. Brightside believes in building better experiences for your banking (and life).

What exactly is one of these ‘better experiences’? Well, for starters, how about showcasing Calgary’s best talent in the food industry through creative culinary experiences over the next 10 days? We’re pretty sure that’s a ‘better experience’ that no one wants to miss out on.

If you want to make your experience a ‘lil extra (and we encourage that you do), make sure you check out participating restaurants for the Brightside Bubbles program. At these select venues, your prix-fixe meal will be accompanied by a glass of BC sparkling Brightside Bubbles. Because things are better with bubbles, don’t you agree?

The Who:

With over 50 restaurants taking part in the 2019 YYC Food & Drink Experience you will be able to find a dish for every mood and appetite you feel. Pigeonhole, The Guild, Two Penny, Buffo, Calcutta Cricket Club, Anju, and Blink Restaurant and Bar are just some of the unreal restaurants taking part in this year’s event.
