Kick off the YYC Food and Drink Experience

A 10-day culinary experience starts this Friday! Presented by Brightside, this foodie festival is encouraging you to explore Calgary’s amazing culinary scene through the value of prix-fixe menus. Restaurants will have $20-$30 lunch menus and $30-$40 dinner menus. Select restaurants will have $65 gourmet dinner menus if you’re feeling a lil boujee.

Jam with Young The Giant

We never knew we needed a song about cough syrup, but now that it’s here we can’t stop jamming. YTG is also bringing upcoming band Sure Sure with them, so if you’re indie this is a must-hit show.

Cry happy tears at the Iginla Jersey Retirement Ceremony/Flames game

We know him, we love him, we miss him every day… and now, we’re officially retiring his jersey. It’s time for number 12 to hit the rafters, as Jarome Iginla will have his iconic digits retired this Saturday. Plus, watch our boys dominate over the Wild on home ice.

If you’re looking for a fun activity for the kidlets, it’s time to hit up Signal Hill Winterfest. The community’s got an afternoon of skating, outdoor games, hot chocolate, roasted marshmallows, and face-painting planned, so pack up the fam and get ready for some snowy fun.

Take advantage of free admission at the Glenbow

With generous support from Chevron Canada, the Glenbow is putting on its sixth annual Community Day. Everyone is invited to come together and visit Glenbow for free, so grab your crew and scope out those new exhibits (Dior, anyone?).

Mess around with the scientific circus

Circus has 20+ unreal exhibits. 20+ exhibits means 20+ opportunities to learn something new, including how to dominate on the High Wire (an extremely useful skill for day-to-day life). You can also become an aerialist and train fleas to jump through hoops, which is pretty ideal if you ask us.

Get sweet at the Calgary Maple Festival des Sucres

With street hockey, person-sized bubble balls, and maple taffy made on snow, the Maple Festival is a can’t-miss event. It celebrates the French Canadian, Métis and First Nations cultures while offering a memorable cultural experience in French!
