Indulge Your Wine Obsession at Winefest this weekend!

The weekend is almost here which means you can spend it binge-watching The Office for the seventh time, or you can hit up the one and only Calgary Winefest. Cowtown’s ultimate wine festival is hitting the BMO Centre this weekend and they’re inviting you to indulge in the hundreds of available wines of varying tastes and type.

It’s a ticketed event, so hurry up, gather your friends, and get your tickets now! Saturday evening tickets sold out in a jiffy, but don’t stress just yet, tickets for Friday Evening ($92.00) and Saturday Afternoon ($85.00) are still available. With a single ticket purchase, you’ll be able to swirl, sip and savour your way through an all-inclusive sampling of worldly wines and an array of delectable hors d’oeuvres.

What can you win?

If great wine and food aren’t enough to get you sold on Winefest, they are also hosting a major contest to all ticket-holders! By teaming up with Rioja Canada, Winefest is giving you a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip for two to Rioja, Spain.

The retreat for two includes: return airfare from Calgary to Spain, four nights, five days including accommodation in Rioja’s capital city, Logroño, Winery tours and tastings at award-winning Bodegas, guided tapas crawl along the famous Laurel Street, and a tour of the Guggenheim Museum and Vivanco Museum of Wine Culture.

The total prize value is approximately $15,000 – so cross your fingers and toes because this is the trip of a lifetime. All ticket purchasers are automatically entered to win, but additional entries can be made by visiting the Rioja region at this year’s event!

You can also help give back to the community at this year’s event! Winefest is once again collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations for the Calgary Food Bank.

They will make every donation go further by contributing $1 for every pound of food donated! Last year Winefest raised $2,219.85 and collected 330 pounds of food to help those in need – so load up your bags and bring your non-perishables by with you!
