It’s here, YYC! We told you this week would fly by! This time around we only get two full days of fun, fresh air and friends, so there’s absolutely no time to waste. From monthly faves to brand new activities, here are 10 socially-distant things to do in Calgary this weekend. Enjoy!
WARM-UP AT YYC’S HOT CHOCOLATE FEST
We hope you’re thirsty because Calgary’s sweetest festival is in full swing! For an entire month every winter, several participating businesses around the city craft their very best version of everyone’s favourite seasonal drink in hopes of winning a coveted title, and 2021 is no different! Check out the link above for participating shops. Time’s almost up for this one, folks!

CHECK OUT THE EAST VILLAGE HYGGE HUT
Located just off River Walk Plaza in the East Village, Calgarians looking to wind down after a day of in-city cross-country skiing are encouraged to check out the Hygge Hut! This Scandinavian-style hut is fitted with a cozy fireplace, a warm atmosphere and is perfect for winding down under a blanket with a cup of Joe or hot cocoa. Oh, and while your there, don’t forget to snap a pic in front of their winter wonderland photo wall! These guys really went all out for us this year.

HIT ONE OF THE MANY CHINOOK BLAST EVENTS
This year, in order to warm the hearts of YYC locals even in the coldest of weather, the City of Calgary will host the first-ever Chinook Blast, a winter celebration of lights, art, and community spirit in collaboration with local businesses. FLY DOWN THE HILLS AT WINSPORT
Not everyone is comfortable on a pair of skis, which is why we’re a big fan of Winsport tube park! Almost anyone can enjoy the breeze, the snow and themselves with this adrenaline-inducing activity making it the perfect way to spend one day this weekend – so check it out!

GET WILD DURING BRIDGELAND’S WINTER SCAVENGER HUNT
Now until March 31st, Calgarians interested in getting active, supporting local, exploring their city, and breathing in some fresh air are encouraged to check out the first Bridgeland Arctic Adventure! This Monday, check out their ‘adventure circuit’ which includes harder than you think tasks, like group photos in front of hidden city gems, videos proof of you participating in singalongs and fitness challenges, and a ton more.

VIBE ALONG TO THE BLOCK HEATER FESTIVAL
Since 2016, Calgary’s Block Heater Festival has delighted the ears and broadened the horizons of music lovers all over the city. This year, due to COVID, instead of holding the event at the Studio Bell Centre as it has in the past, they’ll be taking over your internet space! Don’t miss your last chance to catch some of YYC’s most incredible artists in this virtual celebration.

WATCH A MAGICAL SUNSET DURING THE ALPENGLOW FESTIVAL
It’s finally here! This weekend, after having to reschedule several times, Calgarians can hit the Banff gondola for a festival like none other. Peer through telescopes, roast marshmallows, and indulge in a five-star meal at the tip-top of the Rockies during this year’s magical Alpenglow Festival. You won’t want to miss it!

WANDER INGLEWOOD IN SEARCH OF VIRTUAL ART
