The pandas of the Calgary Zoo are officially on their way home to China

Well, folks. They’ve finally done it. After spending several months trying to secure international permits for beloved giant pandas, Er Shun and Da Mao, the Calgary Zoo has finally gotten clearance to send them to China.
Due to all of the travel restrictions in place to limit the spread of the COVID virus, the zoo has had some trouble getting the pandas the 40-kilos of fresh bamboo that they require daily.

This is ultimately what prompted the zoo to send these lovable fur babies back to their homeland, where their food supply is endless.
Er Shun and Da Mao were born in Toronto in 2015 but moved to Calgary in 2018. Now, it’s about time that they live with others like them in a larger environment with all of the food they can eat.
Unfortunately, we won’t get to say goodbye in person, but we’ll always have the photos, videos, and memories.
Bon Voyage, cuties! Gone, but never forgotten!
