This new Mexican ice cream spot has some of the most colourful desserts in Calgary
Tacos and ice cream. Could it get any better than that? The answer is yes, apparently, it can. Not to be dramatic, but Calgary’s newest Mexican street food joint, Canelo’s, has created dessert hybrids so uniquely tasty you may not look at food the same way – ever again.
With their colourful aesthetic, soft-serve deliciousness, and inventive eats, Canelo’s is an absolute must-try.

The heart and soul of the operation is definitely their signature waffle-taco. This bad boy is completely stuffed wall to wall with jumbo scoops of icecream, mixins, and sauce; then topped with a fancy garnish.
Customers can either choose from one of Canelo’s pre-selected combination creations or build their own. just be warned, this can be overwhelming. With 12 different kinds of chilly goodness and unlimited toppings from their candy bar; you’ll feel beyond spoiled for choice.
If you’re taking a seat and prefer to grab something to share, they’ve also got waffle nachos, which are pretty good too… just not as good as their tacos.
