Flu shots now available in Alberta pharmacies and doctor’s offices

It’s time, friends. Flu shots are now available in Alberta pharmacies and doctor’s offices province-wide and if we have learned anything in the last few months, it’s that if there’s something you can do to protect yourselves and others from a contagion, you should probably do it.
According to Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw; it’s more important than ever to keep influenza-related tests, emergency visits and hospitalizations to a minimum. This is an imperative in making damn sure our hospitals don’t become overwhelmed again.

“We can’t yet prevent COVID-19 with a vaccine but we can help stop the flu from taxing our health system,” she said.
Just last year, only 1 in three Albertans actually got the shot and nearly 8,500 people got the flu, 39 of which passed away from the illness. This doesn’t have to be the case this year, folks!
Seriously… the government is so keen on Alberta getting their flu shots this year, they even ordered an insane 1.96 million doses of the vaccine as opposed to the 1.4 million they ordered last year.
Don’t let it go to waste, fam. We have enough germs, bacteria, illness and grossness to deal with, don’t you think?
