Guess who’s back, back again! It’s us, and we come bearing something delicious. Now, today you might recognize a few of these names but we think, that in times like this one, a second or third location is definitely something to celebrate! We’ve seen too many closures and cancellations in the last few months, so enjoy our attempt at focusing on the positive! Here are 6 new bars and restaurants in Calgary that you should check out this week!
BLOWERS & GRAFTON
If you’re like us and spend your day’s craving donair nachos, then your evenings jonesing for a Maritimers tallboy, we’ve got some good news! East coast hotspot Blowers and Grafton has opened a second location in YYC’s community of Mission.
Where: 2120 4 St SW, Calgary
MADE BY MARCUS & LIL’ EMPIRE BRIDGELAND
This is a big one, but if you’ve already been then we don’t need to tell you that. Made By Marcus’s new Bridgeland location is open and it’s been majorly busy since launch day. Is the line worth standing in? We’ll let you guys be the judge of that, but we’ve certainly spent a lot more time waiting for worse. (It’s ice cream, guys… it’s always worth it.) Now, not only can you get delicious treats, but Lil’ Empire Burger is also set up at the same spot!! Doesn’t get better than that, you guys.

TWO PILLARS TAPROOM

It’s been a long time coming, but the Two Pillars taproom is finally open and ready for business. Grab a pint, and a small plate while you lounge in their beautiful Crescent Heights space. Also, while you’re there, you might just learn a thing or two about their brew and there’s nothing wrong with that, is there?
Where: 910 Centre Street N, Calgary
CALAN BEEF NOODLE
Craving hand-pulled, homemade Lanzhou? Well, until now, there was only one place in YYC where you could grab a bowl of the good stuff without flying across the world. Calan Beef Noodle has just swung open a second pair of doors in the inner city, meaning their one-of-a-kind comfort food is even more accessible than it was.
Where: 109 – 683 10 St SW, Calgary
TEN DEGREES DESSERT LOUNGE AND CAFE
Bonbons, bars, and gelato! Calgary’s newest cafe is guaranteed to hit that sweet spot. Ten Degrees Dessert Lounge and Chocolate factory right off 17th Ave is now open and ready for some seriously tasty business.
Where: 818 16 Ave SW, Calgary
Honourable mentions:
THE DIRTY DUCK PUB
Whether or not this is technically a ‘new’ spot is still up for debate. After Swans of Inglewood shut down a few months ago, The Dirty Duck Pub reopened in its place. Coincidentally, the pub still has generally the same menu and some familiar faces – but a new name, a new concept, and some new customers. Either way, it’s an Inglewood-must visit.
Where: 1336 9th Avenue SE, Calgary
There you have it, hungry friends. Which one of these tasty new Calgary restaurants do you plan on trying this week? Obviously, we’ll be giving all of them a go. Maybe we’ll see you out there!
