This year, its more important than ever that we celebrate love and inclusivity. This year, in compliance with the Health minister’s recommendations, the most vibrant week-long event has been reimagined, but not cancelled! The organizers of Calgary Pride aren’t letting anything get in the way of their city-wide celebration, no ma’am! Instead, with the help of local businesses, the 30th-anniversary event will take place across social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Twitch, YouTube, and in several distance-friendy locations around the city! Here are 5 fun Calgary Pride Week events happening between August 28th and September 6th.
VIRTUAL PRIDE BRUNCH
This year’s 8th annual brunch can be had from the comfort of your own kitchen table! Order one of their brunch kits, tune in and join fellow community members or allies in raising a toast to love, laughter, and light in support of Camp fYrefly, a program dedicated to nurturing, teaching and empowering queer and trans youth.

VIRTUAL PRIDE PARADE KICK-OFF EVENT
No, this year we won’t see floats, costumes, confetti, or each other, but we will see some incredible performances by Ria Mae, The Command Sisters, and Kiesza, speakers, and entertainers as well as an appearance by Naheed Nenshi.

PRIDE THRU DRIVE-THRU
This is perhaps the tastiest way to show your support this Pride week! In collaboration with YYCFoodTrucks, Calgary presents the Pride Thru-Drive Thru! Grab a lemonade, roll down the window, and enjoy a delicious afternoon in the comfort of your own vehicle.
