European Union gives Canada the green light to visit in updated list


Adventurers, pack your bags! But only if you understand the risk… and like to live dangerously. The European Union has begun permitting travel from a shortlist of ‘safe’ countries, and Canada made the cut – not that we actually recommend travelling anywhere at this time, though.
Citing lower levels of infection, the E.U. updated it’s restrictions just last week (Friday, August 7th) and will continue to monitor and add others depending on available COVID data. Basically these guys can shut it all down at a moment’s notice, so vacation with caution, friends!
In addition to Canada, their ‘master list’ included places such as Australia, Uruguay, Japan, and New Zealand, as well as Georgia, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, and Tunisia.

This is a pretty big step because, if you remember, they were actually in pretty bad shape just months ago. Their broad travel ban has been in effect since mid-March, lifting locally and to a few countries that they believed to be more cautious than others at the time.
This ‘first draft’ of the ‘European Union approved list’ Initially included places like Serbia, Algeria, and Montenegro, all of which have since been removed from the list as infection rates spiked. You can bet that they have their eyes on us, Canada. Anything could happen!
Please, if you do plan on travelling – anywhere, even to a different city, think before you pack. It’s a mad world out there, and it’s way better to be safe than sorry! Be smart and be safe, folks!
