Stretch those thumbs! Calgary just got a brand new COVID-safe VR-arcade!

Gone are the days of Buck Shot and Whack-A-Mole. This summer, check out the brand new VRKADE in Southcentre Mall, an entertainment hub at the forefront of technology.
YYC is taking on a totally unique arcade experience and to be honest, we’re not sure that we’re ready. However, despite how we feel about something that could potentially threaten the sanctity of Dance Dance Revolution and Pin Ball, it’s actually hard not to support these guys.

VRKADE is actually based here in Calgary and has successfully opened 6 other locations within the city, and in Lethbridge, Nanaimo and Abbotsford.
This particular futuristic fun centre will have virtual escape rooms and a massive catalogue of multi-player arcade games. Also, thanks to their layout, everything can be played safely in the age of COVID! Each area will be curtained off to provide spacial guidance and privacy – because wandering around with a VR headset can look totally ridiculous. Thank Yonce’.
If you’d like to book one of their 17 stations, you can check out their website here, but we’d recommend doing it ASAP. We have a sneaky suspicion that when word gets out, this place is going to get crazy busy… considering everyone has been inside for months, and are probably bored out of their minds.
Good luck, snagging a spot, Calgary! May the odds be ever in your favour.
