You’ll be able to watch the new Mulan on Disney+ instead of in theatres

We have to admit that we’re surprised Disney made the call to send the new live-action Mulan movie straight to streaming. We have a feeling a team of analysts over there were pulling their hair out trying to figure what the better move was.
Well, they made the call. Instead of a traditional theatre release, Mulan is coming to Disney+ on September 4. But, don’t expect to be able to watch it alongside all those Star Wars movies.

Why? Because Disney will be charging people to stream the movie from home. What’s more- they’re reportedly going to be asking for $29.99 USD to watch it. Call us crazy, but we might just wait until the hype is over to check it out.
The live-action version of Mulan premiered way back in March but was pulled from its theatrical release due to COVID-19. We guess that Disney is tired of waiting, and would rather roll the dice online than try to guess when people will be comfortable returning to movie theatres.
We say good for them, but, we also say no way to that price point. Here’s hoping it’ll be alongside other movies sooner rather than later.
