Calgary to light up popular attractions tonight in honor of Tourism week

There really is a special day for everyone and everything and honestly, we couldn’t be happier about it. From May 25th to the 29th, we’re celebrating an industry that employs one in 10 Canadians, all of which have been hit exceptionally hard by the spread of COVID-19. Its Tourism week, Calgary, and this year it looks a heck of a lot different.
Last year, Calgary alone saw 7.3 million travellers who brought in an estimated $2.5 billion dollars. Contributing events like, the Calgary Stampede, concerts, sporting events, and the cities inviting atmosphere made that possible.

Unfortunately due to the coronavirus, we won’t be seeing as many dollar signs. Instead, we’ll see lights.
To acknowledge tourism week, and to lift the spirits of everyone affected, some of Calgary’s most visited attractions will be brightly lit.
“We are a strong, resilient, and innovative industry with passionate people who care about our community and economy. I know that tourism in Calgary and the Bow Valley Corridor will see a resurgence when it’s safe for us to welcome visitors again, ” Said Cindy Ady, CEO of Tourism Calgary in a release.
TELUS Spark Science Centre, Olympic Plaza, Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, The Calgary Tower, Glenbow, and Heritage Park, among a ton of others, will be highlighted, quite literally.
You really won’t want to miss it, guys! Show your support by checking it out, taking and sharing photos, and looking ahead, to a healthier, more vibrant Calgary.
