Now that the province has begun easing public restrictions, the retail spaces and galleries that were given the green light have begun rolling out there prevention plans. On May 22nd, Alberta’s Royal Tyrrell Museum will reopen its doors, but things are going to look a heck of a lot different.
“Through responsible choices, our visitors play a critical role in helping us minimize potential risks to ensure a positive experience for all,” they said in a release.

According to their website, the RTM will now be doing the following things to keep everyone safe from the spread of the COVID-19 virus:
- Limit visitor numbers (maximum occupancy of 150 visitors at a time).
- Enforce timed-ticket admission to allow for capacity control and contactless payment.
- Encourage physical distancing with signage and route markers.
- Provide physical barriers such as plexiglass shields in customer service areas.
- Close all hands-on, interactive elements to limit visitor contact in our galleries.
- Provide substantial access to hand sanitizer and handwashing facilities.
- Increase cleaning and disinfecting throughout our facility.
- Strongly encourage visitors to use their own strollers onsite.
In return, the Museum asks that people use caution and common sense when heading in for a visit. If you’re not feeling well, stay home! Wash your hands frequently, respect the space of the people around you, be patient, keep your kids close, and pre-book!
They also recommend downloading the AB Trace app, using a face mask, and that you keep outside food and drink… outside! Pretty standard stuff guys.
Stay safe, be smart, and enjoy the little extra freedom that we’ve been given. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen anyone real-life fae that wasn’t or quarantine buddy. We need this!
