Telus Spark challenges Calgarians to invent a new way of communicating

Are you into making thing-a-ma-jigs and doodle-bot-genics? Telus Spark wants you! The science centres’ “Yes I Can Challenge” encourages Calgarians to build gadgets that can be safely used to communicate during the pandemic. Think ’empty cans connected with a string’, but better.
The competition will be split into three age categories starting at ages 12 and up, and everyone will have until May 15th to come up with and submit a design.
All contraptions can be made of almost anything- from cardboard and paint to full mechanical creations, as long as it’s an original idea that enables one person to reach out to another.

Ideas can be posted on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, and inventors must tag the science centre and include the hashtag #SparkScienceYesICan. Winners will be determined by May 20th and announced on a live-stream hosted by the science centre!
