After 8 amazing years, Calgary’s Oak Tree Tavern in Kensington has announced that they have been forced to close down permanently, due to the coronavirus outbreak.
“The current situation of COVID-19 and having to shut our doors has made it impossible to stay in business,” they said on their Instagram page.

Perhaps best known for their killer dog-friendly patio and warm Irish Vibe, the Oak Tree was considered the heart of Kensignton to a ton of YYC’s frequent bar hoppers.
The food was incredible, so good in fact, it was featured on the Food Network’s You Gotta Eat Here; the staff was welcoming and they supported a ton of local musicians, so it’s super sad to see them go.
As always, we’d like to remind you guys how badly your local restaurants and bars need your help right now. To support them, check out Eat Later YYC or order delivery from your favourite place tonight.
