Together YYC project makes it easier for business owners to display status

Is your favourite spot open, closed indefinitely or offering delivery? With the Together YYC project, that’s about to get a lot easier to determine! Local businesses have joined forces to create a colour-coded signage system for Calgary owners who have had to adjust operations amid the COVID outbreak.

This ground-level initiative was actually founded by Lisa Shelly, CEO of Neal’s Yard Remedies and Jenifer Rempel, owner of Calgary’s Urban Productions Group, as a way to stay future positive while informing the public.

Simply using one of four colours, the signage is extremely clear and direct:

  • Red: We’ll be back – closed (but only for now)
  • Orange: shop online
  • Teal: open for take-out
  • Purple: Curbside pick-up

Easy enough, right? The signage is also completely free and available online for the convenience of business owners, which is nice.

Because properties have to be checked on periodically for insurance reasons, up until now, owners have had to leave their homes regularity. Now, with the Together YYC system, this will no longer be necessary, ensuring the safety of both parties.

It’s a win, win, win for everyone! Great job, ladies. Life in quarantine just got a heck of a lot easier for all of us!
