Amidst the panic of the shutdown, we do take solace in the fact that companies across Canada are reacting appropriately. The latest announcement is that Shoppers Drug Mart is going to dedicate the first hour of store hours each day to those requiring assistance. Plus, they will offer 20% off of regular priced goods during that time.

It’s a smart decision for two reasons. First, and most importantly, is that it creates a time where those who are elderly or immunocompromised can shop while still practicing social distancing measures. Nice.

But on another note, it also helps protect them from experiencing stock shortages due to panic buying. And while we encourage everyone to be prepared during the next few weeks, we readily defer to those who need it most.

Looks like Shoppers Drug Mart feels the same.
