Roll Up The Rim cups cancelled due to coronavirus concerns

Due to concerns regarding the coronavirus, Tim Hortons has chosen to cancel the use of Roll Up The Rim cups this year. But, guests will still be able to participate via the Tims Rewards app. And, the entire $30M prize pool will be transferred over to the digital contest and restaurant giveaways.
It’s the first time in our lives that Roll Up The Rim cups haven’t been available for the contest. However, it makes sense to not have Tim Hortons employees handling bits of papers that have been in peoples’ mouths. Honestly, that makes sense all of the time, not just when Covid-19 pops up.
Hi Courtney, #RollUpTheRim returns March 11. We’re eliminating paper Roll Up The Rim cups due to the current public health environment, however you can play digitally for major prizes, and millions in coffee and hot beverages available in restaurant. More: https://t.co/mvCpP684Zo

While we’re bummed that we can’t participate the old fashioned way alongside an old-fashioned donut this year, we’re definitely going to be downloading the app. After all, sometimes the craving for a coffee and a cruller can’t be ignored.
We’ll keep you posted if the situation develops further. You can read the press release from Tim Hortons here.
